The first round of GMABC Chinese Teachers Workshop will be held on Nov 6 and Nov 13, 2021, EST 7:00-9:00 PM. The topics of the workshop fall into the following categories:
A, How to plan and enhance your career path as a Chinese teacher?
B, How to increase the status and influence of Chinese Language education?
C, How to obtain teacher’s license in the U.S and suggestions?

Meet our panelists
Professor Anqi Ding
Ph.D Supervisor, Professor, Vice President of School of International Chinese Studies, East China Normal University;
Vice Dean of International Chinese Teacher Training Base; Vice President of Standards and Evaluation Committee, World Chinese Teaching Association;
Director of Shanghai Language Association. Prof. Ding’s research fields include international Chinese education, International Chinese Teacher training as well as Chinese as 2nd Language studies.

Professor Lening Liu
Lening Liu was born and raised in Xi’an City of China. He received his PhD in Linguistics from the University of Florida. Since 1995, he has been teaching Chinese language, Chinese linguistics and pedagogy at Columbia University in the City of New York. Currently, he is Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures and Director of Chinese Language Program of the university. He is also the co-director of The Certificate Program of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages.
Prof. Liu’s research concentrates in the areas of syntax, discourse grammar and Chinese pedagogy. He is the co-author of the <Handbook for Chinese Teachers> and many journal articles.
Prof. Lening Liu is a member of Executive Committee of The International Society for Chinese Teaching（世界漢語教學學會常務理事）. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Chinese Language Education (《國際中文教育學報》) and the editor of TCSOL Studies (《華文教學與研究》).

Mr. Xiaolong Liu
刘小龙先生是清华大学与澳大利亚国立大学管理硕士，目前担任汉考国际考试全球运营及市场总监、中文联盟秘书长。
刘小龙先生负责HSK等中国汉语水平考试在全球运营管理及市场推广工作10余年；通过全球汉语考试考点等大量国际中文教育渠道资源，为海内外院校、教育机构及中文学习者之间搭建了集中文学习、语言测试、来华留学、实习就业等综合平台，促进中文教育与教育国际化深度融合发展。
Mr. Liu has been responsible for the global operation, management and marketing of the HSK and other Chinese language proficiency tests for over 10 years. By utilizing a large number of international Chinese education resources, such as hundreds of global Chinese test centers, he has established a collection of resources for universities, educational institutions, and for Chinese learners at home as well as abroad. The in-depth integration of Chinese language education and the internationalization of education has been promoted through various methods, which include but are not limited to platforms for Chinese learning, language testing, studying abroad in China, internship and employment opportunities.

Dr. Jie Yu
Jie Yu, Associate Professor & Chair of the Department of Education at Rollins College in Orlando, teaches foundations and multicultural courses in education. She received her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Louisiana State University. Her major research interests include curriculum studies, narrative inquiry, phenomenology, eastern philosophy and multicultural education.
余洁于华东师范大学获得本科与硕士的教育学学位，并于路易斯安那州立大学获得课程与教学的博士学位，现于罗林斯学院（Rollin College）的教育系任职副教授与系主任。她的主要研究与教学兴趣在于课程理论、质性研究方法论、现象学、东方哲学与多元文化教育。

为了促进中文教学在美洲的发展，并更好地为中文教师服务，GMABC决定组织“中文教师培训系列讲座”，分系列，分专题，并针对北美中文教师的实际情况开展线上和线下的活动，旨在帮助中文教师有效地开展日常教学，促进教师之间的交流，并拓展中文教师的职业通道，实现在美国教育体系下更好地体现自我价值。
Through our endeavors to better serve Chinese teachers in America, GMABC is organizing our first series of “Chinese Teachers Training Webinars”. These series events are categorized by topics and supported by both online and offline activities. It will provide helpful insights and tips for Chinese teachers’ everyday teaching as well as an open and friendly environment for communication and exchanges of information. It is our hope that Chinese teachers can achieve even more aspirations with the help of our training events.
